Yep, since I've heard of Moxy from a lost media video somewhere around the 2020's (probably early 2020's), I finally gave a look into this forgotten realm of Cartoon Network's first original character (alongside with his pal who is literally a flea named "Flea") who was shoved under the rug after all these years thanks to the critics (and the audience) that weren't into him at the time. But were the critics right all along?
Honestly, not always and I think this is one of them. Especially the way that I see it on how good Moxy was for the most part! Of course Moxy isn't no Bugs Bunny, but if you give Moxy the right kind of "funny" to him, it can work if done right! Even I think Flea is an alright character on his own (especially while also being voiced by one of the Penn and Teller guys instead of Chris Rock in my opinion).
If Moxy could've gotten a second chance, then he would've been a better character right now... But that didn't happen (at least for now). And it totally reminds me that one "Screen Test" scene in the Moxy Pirate Show on where Moxy was trying to impersonate other cartoon characters with the director always saying "Next!" every single time without a second chance to make Moxy improve his acting skills. No wonder why Flea had to come in and remind him on how catchphrases work properly in the Moxy Show (despite Flea's also a bit of a bully/annoyance to poor Moxy... sometimes).
The only Moxy Show-related content that I wasn't a fan of was the pilot for the Moxy and Flea show that I'll just simply say for now is...
Yeah, and I might explain that in a future post as to why I didn't like the pilot compared to the other stuff.
